Think for Sanity's Sake

"5% of us think. 10% of us believe that we think. 85% of us are scared to death of thinking." -Thomas Jefferson.

What exactly is "thinking" anyways? Is it the process of trying to form an idea? Or is it the possession of that idea and noting that it is somehow different from all the other ideas that came before it? Does a sane thought by nature require some form of progression in its formation, to be considered thinking?

"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result." -Albert Einstein.

It would stand to reason (according to Einstein at least) that in order for us to maintain our sanity we must try new things, and I take that to mean that the only rational approach to thought would therefore be to encourage ourselves to have new ones.
